- As always Diana Ptaszynsni of Suburban Girl Studio has come up with an unusual and fun creative outlet . . . the mismatched earring swap was a great idea. I probably could have gone and pushed my self outside the box a bit farther (probably next time) but in any case it was a hoot!!!
Unfurtunately my swap partner Stephanie Woods couldn't get me my earrings in time. So I'll start by showing what I sent and hope she'll be able to catch up in a bit. . . .
I started with copper blanks, used the embossing tool I have and made a pattern on the copper. I then used the Vintage Patina's, I'm really getting to like the looks I get with them, anyway, I seal coated the copper with Clear Guard and added my lampwork beads and Swarovski cryatal accents . . . yep, it was fun!!!!
I'll post Stephanie's earrings when I get them . . .

Studio Time . . . finally!!!
The weather has been brutal, here. The A/C running all the time all the fans as well . . . and the humidity just kicking butt. I stopped trying to get some torch time in after the last time when I got really dizzy and ill. Said "no, it's not worth it", but I've been longing to resume beading. . . . so when yesterday came along I was glued out in the studio, I went out at 9:00am came in at 6:00pm I did break an hour for lunch. I loved it!!!! give me a week with days like that and I'll have a nice stash for Beadfest!!!

Design Team Reveal - Summertime!
Diana's challenge pieces were fantastic . . . . I have such a passion for anything from the sea. Plus the fact that she used one of my favorite colors made this piece a pleasure as well as a challenge to do so here is my inspiration from Diana's challenge . . . .

Earring Swap Results . . . .
And the results are stunning . . . . for starters I wish to thank Diana Ptaszynski of Suburban Girl Studio for organizing this event (with a due date the day before an early flight to Milwaukee and the Bead&Buttuon show, lol) and a thank you to my two earring partners!!! An incredibly talented and creative group of ladies . . . . .
These are from the lovely Lesley Watt of THEAjewellery etsy shop. I have a passion for the sea, fish, mermaids shells and there are what she came up with . . . . aren't they just perfect!!!

Things to remember . . .
I need to remember to take pictures of my wonderful earrings from the swap and post them tomorrow. . . . who on earth ever decided to make the post date the day you need to pack for B&B??? Oh that's right it was Diana . . . . .
Speaking of Bead&Button here is what I made yesterday to bring with me for the bead swao event and for other trades. . .
CC is inspecting them just to make sure . . . .
I'll probably grab a few more but so far this is a good start, mandrels not included, LOL!!!

Slaving Away . . . .
It's a good thing I have such a stern task master behind me . . . to remind me that BeadFest is only a few months away and that I need to have a decent amount of inventory!!! Well, she's right (don't let her know, it'll get to her head) so here I've been slaving for 3 days and this is all I came up with :( looks like I better put up a cot in the studio, lol!!!
Oh!!!! How could I forget to add this studio picture . . . . . my "lovebug" keeping me company!!!!

Death in the Family
Today we are putting to rest my little brother. He was 50, but will always be my "little" annoying, instigating, irritating, loving, caring, adorable little brother even though he towered over me . . . . I can not describe the range of emotions I've been through, because they change by the minute.
But first and foremost is shock, I keep shaking my head and repeating "no, no, no it can't be. . . he can't be gone from my life forever. . . . no" I miss him so much!
Where do we go from here? When will this numbness be gone and Dear Lord when will that godawful pain stop!!!!
